It's been an exciting last few weeks at Seven Stars school and lots of things achieved since our return in September. Here are some of the things we have done:

  • Ofsted report released confirming we are 'good' in all areas (yet again)

 

  • 'Meet the Team' meetings with parents invited into school to meet their children's class team

 

  • OPAL Play assemblies with Golden Wellies being given out for great attitude during Outdoor Play and Learning

 

  • New fun equipment out at OPAL play times developing social skills and enhancing playtime engagement

 

  • Big turn out for our OPAL Parents open afternoons (with the traditional tug of war competition!)

 

  • Lots of sports events including Rugby coaches and tournament,  Football tournament at Balshaws, Fitness sports event at Worden Academy, PASTA (food and fitness) club,  COVID recovery fitness sessions

 

  • Pupil Parliament appointed (and already coming up with brilliant ideas)

 

  • Scholastic Book Fair took place (with lots of great books bought for homes and school)

 

  • Assemblies and Teddy Bear picnic held in honour of the Queen

 

  • Phonics Parents workshop held in the hall with Mrs Warner (introducing our Phonics Shed scheme)

 

  • Macmillan Coffee afternoon with money raised for cancer research and relief

 

  • Open Day visits for parents of prospective children for Reception 2023

 

  • National Poetry day celebrated in school

 

  • Young Leaders training for Year 5s to help them support younger children at playtimes

 

  • Halloween Disco for Years 1 to 6 (PTFA event)

 

  • ECO Assembly (based around the 'SEE MONSTER') and launch of an Eco club

 

  • Money Matters training for years 5 and 6 with visiting presenter (helping the children understanding how to budget)

 

  • Presentation to Year 6 about knife crime and staying safe in the community

 

  • Remembrance Day assembly with an amazing poppies display in the hall and the last post played by Mr Pullin 

 

  • Odd-Socks day (celebrating diversity) and Anti-bullying week with the message of 'Reach Out'

 

  • Hothersall Lodge residential adventure holiday with Year 6 (tree climbing, zip wire, canoeing, archery, team building, orienteering and lots of fun)
