Volunteering in School

We are really keen to talk to anyone who is interested in volunteering at our wonderful school

We recognise that volunteers have a great deal to offer our school and we warmly encourage you to get actively involved with school life at Seven Stars Primary School.

Volunteers can get involved in different ways from reading with children to help with preparing resources and fundraising.

Volunteering is also a great way to build up your experience for future roles and careers if that is what you would like to do as well as a great way to contribute positively to our brilliant community.

All volunteers are will be required to complete an application and have clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) before they can commence Volunteering. Volunteers will be expected to follow the same code of conduct that all staff follow at Seven Stars school and to act 'professionally' and with a smile at all times.

Summary

Seven Stars Primary School are looking to employ a high-quality Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work alongside our SENCo and Assistant SENCo to develop a bespoke provision for children with Education Health Care Plans with complex needs.

The role will involve the administration, planning, delivery of curriculum, policy development and management of the intervention and provision in liaison with the SENCo, Senior Leaders and teachers. This is a role that will require a degree of flexibility due to the nature of the pupils and the ongoing evolution of the intervention within the structure of the school and the need to meet complex needs within the existing capacity of the school. It will require some management and leadership of TA2 staff with the support of the SENCo and SEND manager.

The number of pupils being worked with will be small given the complexity of need (usually 5 to 6 pupils)

Seven Stars Primary School is a happy and successful school, ‘where children come first.’  Candidates need to have high expectations and be able to deliver excellent teaching and learning opportunities with a specific ability to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. The school will provide an effective team of colleagues to support and further develop the successful candidate professionally.

A general job description, person specification and application form are available on the school website or you can contact the head teacher at head@seven-stars.lancs.sch.uk

Please get in touch if you would like to know more on 01772 422503 and we would highly recommend a visit to the school if you are considering applying for this role.
