We had a brilliant final week before breaking up for the half-term holidays with the visit of John Vale and his Creepy Crawly Roadshow.
John visited every single class in school with his many minibeasts including Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, Giant Train Millipedes, various stick insect species, Chilean Rose Spiders, Royal Pythons, Giant African Land Snails, Leopard Geckos and more.
John covered topics such as classification, mini beasts, habitats, adaptations and animal physiology as well as sharing his huge enthusiasm for and knowledge of the whole of the animal world making us all more aware of the wonderful world we live in.
The children asked some superb questions and some of them even had their photo taken holding (gently) many of the creatures, including a snake who enjoyed perching on some of the children's shoulders.
It was great learning the many fascinating facts and we are sure that some of our children now have a new found love for the animal world and will perhaps consider a career with animals in the future just like John.
